Color dyeing

Because the world isn’t just black and white.

You don’t see the world just in black and white. That’s convenient, at Parts On Demand we don’t either. We have given the subject some thought!

Standard, all parts are printed in white. We can color them afterwards by impregnating them. The ordered parts are treated to a nice pigment bath. They take on the color of the pigment solution. Like a kind of chameleon, you could say.

So, the pigment draws into the parts. As a result, the pigmentation does not influence the dimensions of your parts. On average, the pigment penetrates the parts up to a depth of 100 um to 500 um. This means your parts are not colored through and through. Very useful as a wear indicator! Standard impregnation is possible in a number of basic colors. For larger series we can color to, for example, RAL or Pantone specification. That is how flexible we are.

POD’s tips

Due to the process, slight color differences are possible. Order shotpeening post-processing to minimize that effect. Your parts will look all the better with it anyway!

Do you have any burning questions?

It may be true that 3D printing hasn’t been used as long for production as turning, milling or injection molding. As an engineer, maybe you don’t really have that ‘feel’ with printed parts yet. And you are not confident about how 3D printed products hold up in your machines. We fully understand that! And we will help ease your mind.

So: do you have a 3D printed application in mind? Use a 3D printed part and taste the pudding? See if it will hold up? Then contact Neil for a free sample. On the house!
